Maybe you’ve already seen these, but let me explain my excitement…
I haven’t been able to find Chobani anywhere in Gainesville except for Fresh Market (which is 20-25 minutes from my house where they’re sold for $1.99 a piece for the 6 oz. size…ridiculous!) I went into a different Publix than I normally go to this afternoon in search of more Arnold’s Thins (everyone is sold out). I didn’t find the Arnold’s so I decided to peruse this Publix to see if they had anything different than the other ones I usually go to. I ventured over to the yogurt to check for the Chobs. I do this every time I’m at the store, without much hope that I’ll find them. However today I spotted their colorful containers on the bottom shelf of the yogurts! I saw the 6 oz. ones (which were $1.33 a piece!!) and then….16 oz. tubs of the vanilla and plain flavors for $3.39. I bet you can guess how THRILLED I was! I wanted to buy all of them but restrained myself to a 16 oz. tub of the vanilla…it’s beautiful with a replaceable lid and everything!

After I grabbed the yogurt I picked up some Earth Balance Butter Spread, Sabra Red Roasted Pepper Hummus, and Defense Yogi Tea (I need it right now..still fighting off this cold).

Breakfast today was an on-the-go mix of PB Puffins and Kashi GoLean Crunch Honey Almond Flax with soy milk. I also had some Coffee Cocoa .

Mid-Morning snack was a Kashi Raspberry Chocolate bar (YUMMMM!) and a banana. This kept me satisfied until lunch…finally I wasn’t hungry ALL morning!

Lunch was an Amy’s Non-Dairy Burrito, grapes, and a cheese stick.

For dinner, Evan and I had leftover Easy Bake Ravioli with Spinach and Zucchini. On the side was one Arnold’s Thin slice (my last one…hopefully these get back in stock soon!), and broccoli with freshly shredded organic white cheddar cheese. Delicious!

Evan and I sampled some of the new Sabra hummus and Kashi Seven Grain crackers with dinner too.

Ohhhh my goodness. This hummus was a billion times better than the Athenos brand I’ve been eating. I feel like I’ve really been missing out! Evan loved it too! Yummmmmy.
Dessert was…you guessed it! More Haagen Dazs Mango Sorbet (sadly the last of it). Evan and I split this teeny dipping bowl full of it.

Today was supposed to be a rest day, but I had to swap it with yesterday’s workout. I promised I’d explain why I missed out on yesterday’s 2 mile run and strength training, so here it goes. Yesterday, I was on my way out to go for my run when I got a call from Evan saying that his car had broken down at the gas station around the corner from my house. His car is getting up there in the years and these break downs have become a tri-annual occurrence, it seems. So I kept my running gear on with hopes that it wouldn’t take too long (I had class at 5 PM and this was all at 2 PM) and I’d still be able to work out. That didn’t happen. We ended up waiting awhile for the tow truck, the had to follow them to the repair shop. Then we waited at the repair shop for them to determine what was wrong with the car, but they couldn’t say immediately what it was until they swapped out the battery (it was dead). I had to get going to class by this point so we left and I dropped Evan off at home and went back to my house to get ready for class really quick. Well I was home for no more than 15 minutes when Evan called to tell me that the battery was all that was wrong with the car and that they’d replaced it and it was ready to be picked up! Ahhh…luckily his roommate was able to take him but he could have just stayed there an extra 30 minutes and avoided the whole ordeal. Oh well… Anyway, the point of all of that is that I didn’t have time to do my workout yesterday, so I did it today!
I met Evan at the gym after my trip to Publix (and dropping the groceries off at my house). I ran my 2 miles on the treadmill (my first treadmill run…not too bad!) Then Evan was amazing enough to show me some arm and back exercises to do in the weight room. The weight room intimidates me because it’s mostly guys and I have no idea what I’m doing unless I’ve used the machines a few times (who does?) It was really nice to have him there to show me around and give me pointers. Now that I’m incorporating strength into my training, this was very helpful. We were there for about 2 hours (it took awhile to show me things and for both of us to do the reps on each machine). I did shoulder shrugs, seated rows, chest presses, back extenders, lateral pull-downs, pull-ups, and abs on an exercise ball. I should be feeling it tomorrow!
It’s 45 minutes past my normal bedtime so I’m going to start getting ready for some sleep! No 5 AM wake-up call tomorrow! Hallelujah!
Good night and Happy Weekend!!!

haha YAY for Chobanis making Publix appearances! I squealed when I saw them and this little old lady looked at me like I was a lunatic, haha.
You’re going to love weights and strength training. In terms of body toning and such you see results MUCH more quickly!! And I just love the feeling my muscles get! Anyway, rest up, you deserve this weekend!
